• Designed and implemented a geofencing system using PostGIS to enable location-based brand challenges, supporting real-time spatial queries across the user base.
• Re-architected the feed rendering system to decouple queries and enable parallelization, reducing latency by 500ms on app load.
• Implemented full observability stack with OpenTelemetry: distributed tracing, custom metrics, and structured logging across backend services and Temporal workflows.

• Built an event dispatching system using a modified outbox pattern with DynamoDB, enabling concurrent consumers to process events without duplicates via transaction-based locking. Later implemented an MSSQL version with ordering guarantees that simplified producer logic.
• Built configurable logging infrastructure with Pino and custom Koa middleware for request context propagation.
